Research

Modelling work on infrastructure systems under uncertainty. Each item connects a physical or operational model to a decision metric — a size, a cost, a reliability margin — and reports the assumptions that determine it.

Projects

Sizing of PEM-integrated hybrid storage for data-centre resilience Completed

Mixed-integer sizing optimisation of a PEM electrolyser–battery hybrid storage system supporting data-centre reliability, with Monte Carlo uncertainty quantification and multi-decade scenario analysis. Core of the doctoral thesis; published in the IET conference proceedings.

Multiscale modelling and degradation-aware assessment of PEM water electrolysers Completed

Physics-based electrolyser models calibrated against experimental data, with loss decomposition and degradation modelling carried through to durability and lifecycle cost. Published in the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and presented at SPIES 2025.

Techno-economic assessment of blue hydrogen production Completed

Technical and economic performance assessment of a blue hydrogen production configuration through process modelling and simulation. Published in the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control.
